2. Guide on how to use PAIA

3. Categories of records held
StreetSignal is a statically generated website. We do not operate a database, user accounts, or server-side application. The following categories of records are held:
3.1 Public data sources (displayed on the website)
- SAPS quarterly crime statistics (aggregated at precinct level)
- City of Cape Town General Valuation Roll 2022 (aggregated at suburb level)
- Stats SA Census 2022 population data (aggregated at sub-place level)
- Department of Basic Education school data (aggregated at school level)
- City of Cape Town service request data (aggregated at suburb level)
- City of Cape Town Open Data Portal datasets (boundaries, facilities, infrastructure)
All data displayed on StreetSignal is statistical aggregates. No individual property identifiers, household survey responses, or personal information is published.
3.2 Operational records

- Domain registration and hosting records
3.3 Records not held
- No user account data (no accounts exist)
- Email addresses submitted via interest and notification forms (processed by Formspree, a third-party form service, on behalf of StreetSignal)

- No payment or financial records from users
- No individual property owner data
- No individual crime report data
4. How to request access to records
To request access to records held by StreetSignal, submit a written request to our Information Officer using the prescribed PAIA form (Form C for private bodies). Your request should include:
- Your full name and contact details
- Proof of identity (copy of ID document or passport)
- A clear description of the records you are requesting
- The form of access you prefer (e.g. copy, inspection)

We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request. If we cannot respond within 30 days, we will notify you in writing with reasons for the delay.
5. Grounds for refusal
Access may be refused on the grounds set out in Chapter 4 of PAIA, including protection of personal information of third parties, protection of commercial information, and records that are publicly available elsewhere.
6. Fees
A request fee and access fee may apply as prescribed by the PAIA regulations. The current prescribed request fee is R57 (inclusive of VAT), as set out in Part III of Annexure A (Government Notice 187, regulation 11). No request fee is payable when requesting access to your own personal information. You will be notified of any applicable fees before access is provided.
